Kamminke

Highlight • Settlement

The place is on a (hidden) steep slope on the Polish side and in the village you have to go down a 12% slope to the harbor! Adventurous!

From above you have a very good view of the Polish side and the allotment garden settlement called Freudenthal, which is right on the border.

Kamminke is absolutely rustic and a little insider tip! You feel like you're in a small Greek fishing village!

A few years ago, a hiking and cycling path to Poland was built from Kamminke (closed to cars). Try!

This figure was created at the end of the 1960s on the initiative of the then mayor Madel and was created by an artist from Ueckermünde, recalls the pensioner Kurt Schwanz. The now 76 year old has lived in Kamminke since 1946. Worked as a baker and in agriculture. "From 1972 to 1984, when I was disabled, I was mayor myself," reveals Kurt. The stone sculpture was not always in its current position. “It used to stand right on the water and had to move away from this point in the course of the further expansion of the port,” says Kamminker. The original stone sculpture is said to have broken off the arm of a fallen branch of a poplar during a storm, whereupon the sculpture disappeared a little later and was replaced by a new one.

The sunsets are legendary. But the place itself is still a last resort of authentic Usedom.

The beach of Kamminke was once an insider tip. Now the holidaymakers have already discovered this idyllic corner for themselves in summer.

September 14, 2025,↔️ Zirchow 🏡☀️- Kamminke 🏡☀️🌊🐟
... by the afternoon, the rain had cleared, and we were able to go on our planned walk to Kamminke (a pretty little village... right on the Polish border) in perfect late summer weather.

We really enjoyed the sunshine once again ☀️🏡 🌊🐟 😊. A great end to our time here on Usedom... for now... 😁.

A beautiful autumn hike from the oasis on the lagoon to Kamminke. The pictures speak for themselves. The highlight was the section on the beach directly along the Szczecin Lagoon.

... and USEDOM 🏖️... the island where you never believe you are on an island when you are allowed to be there! Sea 🌊 ... inland waters (so brilliant: ACHTERWASSER... 🤩) without end ... forest 🌲🌿🌳(without end) with infrastructure... with everything your heart desires .... hiking and cycling... until the doctor comes... - so: go there... do it! 😁... today …
