SAT Peak

Highlight • Summit

Destination of THE via ferrata classic at Lake Garda. Briefly enjoy the view at 1245m and then prepare for the unpleasant descent. We're down left. Very steep and dangerous when wet.

As an alternative to the via ferrata, there is a route a little north to the summit, which can also be used to descend to Riva. The route is quite attractive, as the via ferrata is technically not very spectacular due to its almost continuously exposed ladders.

October 2, 2024,Via Ferrata dell'Amicizia – Cima Sat - Runde von Riva del Garda
Anyone can do it in good weather ;-) Unfortunately zero visibility today... Descent modest ;-)

More ladder than via ferrata, but still (or because of that?) Nerve-wracking.
Occasionally longer walking passages and a descent that takes a loooong time.

COMPANY DIARY
Pt 2

The company has expanded.
Six travelers searching for Frodo.
We ventured into middle ground, faced challenging climbs and endless stairs.
But the company resisted.
Once we reached the summit we had the
Visual of what awaited us.
An infinite way!
Refreshed we left to go to the refreshment inn.

September 9, 2023,Via Ferrata dell Amicizia
And finally the Amicizi, a demanding via ferrata because of its length. The climbing passages are rather easy. There are many ladders in it, the highlight is a 70 m ladder. Personally, the walking sections between the climbing areas were more strenuous for me than the climbing sections, probably because of the heat. The path is on the east wall …

The via ferrata of infinite ladders. It was nice and it was good that clouds kept hiding in front of the sun. Otherwise you'd be hanging over the sun-exposed rungs like a broiler chicken in the midday heat.

Like a fjord, the Cima SAT rises from the plain directly from the outskirts of Riva. 1200 m high. And there is a via ferrata. I have to repeat that too!

A small paved path initially winds upwards in countless narrow bends. The GPS is beyond the limits of physics and is overwhelmed with recording.

The final tour starts today, on foot from Riva, on the Ferrata "Cima Sat".
We overcome the first 130 Hm easily, with the first ride (early), with the new glass elevator up to the Bastione.
From here it's a fairly steep and stony hiking trail up to the Santa Barbara Chapel and on to the start of the via ferrata …

Showing Translation

For some unknown reason Komoot screwed up the walking time. 3: 26h was pretty much the time to the summit. The descent over the smallest, steep serpentines on the flank is very long. OVERALL THE WALKING TIME was 6 HOURS !!!
