The Pagan Girl Rock Face (Prisank North Wall)

Highlight • Natural Monument

So real, even though made of stone!

One of the most beautiful works of art that nature has created can be found right on the way to Vršič. The stone face of the “Pagan Maiden”, on the north face of Prisank, is best seen from the viewing hill at the Poštarska koča hut on Vršič, but it can also be seen from the Erjavčeva koča hut.

Legend has it that a mythological creature, the pagan maiden, prophesied to the son of a hunter that he would shoot the Zlatorog. Other pagan women would have been enraged by this illegitimate prophecy and turned the prophetess into a rock...

Gravel Path Along the Prisank North Face

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

This path between the Vršič saddle and Na Robu is an alternative to the "Window Path" or "Kopiscarjeva Pot" via ferrata on the mighty, steep north face of the Prisank massif. At Na Robu, a steep path ("Grebenska Pot") leads to the northeast, also up to the mighty Alpine window ("Prednje okno") and on to the Prisank peak. In addition, this gravel path, which crosses a large scree slope, can also be used as a way back from the Alpenfenster. There are also wonderful views of the Mojstrovka massif in the north-west and the Prisank massif in the east, along whose western cliffs the path leads.

From the Vrsic Pass there are impressive views of the rock massif around Mojstrovka. The path along the south-eastern slope of the massif up to Mala (Kleine) Mojstrovka and down from there is easy to follow and recognize.

The weather was finally right for a mountain tour.
The start was at the Vršič Pass, so there weren't so many meters to climb.

At the large Okno window, I climbed the via ferrata a little into the window (for a few photos and out of …
