This Hotton watermill from 1729 gives us the true feeling of a bygone era. It was built along a watercourse, a second tributary of the Ourthe, which gave rise to an island (l'île d'Oneux) in the heart of the place.
At that time it was a communal mill and the inhabitants were obliged to grind their grain in the mill of the Lordship. This obligation was accompanied by a tax called "milling dues" and was proportional to the amount of milled grain.
