Comments
Lake Ludwig is a former open-cast mine from the Holzweißig-West mine in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district of Saxony-Anhalt. A small section in the southeastern part, however, belongs to Saxony.
It was flooded between 1993 and 2005. The current owner is the BUND (Friends of the Earth Germany), and the lake is located within the Goitzsche Wilderness nature reserve.
