The Kleine Felsengasse on the Nonnenstein near Jonsdorf is lined with thick iron crusts: these are the Felsengasse in the sandstone of the Zittau Mountains. Magmatic melts and gases penetrated here, leading to iron accumulations in the sandstone. While the igneous rock was eroded by weathering, the sandstones hardened by the iron remained. This is how the rocky alleys, which are ideal for walking through, came into being.

I discovered Beo on Komoot and followed it today. Since I discovered the large parking lot at the Gondola Pond and wanted to stop there, the hike was a bit shorter.
The weather was beautiful, although there was a cool breeze. I really enjoyed the trail and would happily recommend it.

The start and finish of our hike is the "Zum Bahnel" guesthouse in the former Jonsdorf train station. We walked the well-known loop through the Jonsdorf rock town. We actually wanted to do the via ferrata on the Nonnenfelsen. However, as it had rained repeatedly in the previous days, we postponed this route until later.

Today it was time again to take time for former colleagues. The meeting point was the large parking lot at the gondola ride in Jonsdorf. Our plan, lots of chatter, picnic and enjoying nature. The picnic area was the Carolafelsen, so first up the mountain. When we arrived, we were rewarded with a beautiful view and a nice place for …

Impressive landscape, the path partly with many different steps, but also great views.

I've never taken so many photos before. The tour took almost the whole day with lots and lots of looking and photographing

A really great lap that can only be recommended...unfortunately komot smeared at about 1.5 km....so that the lap is not really recognizable here...

Today we did a little family tour again in the NSG Jonsdorf (millstone quarries, organ pipe stones, nuns rocks,). The area is always fascinating. You have to be sure-footed at times, but the route is also manageable for children.

Today we explored the great rock formations in the Mühlsteintal. Up and down stairs - but always with a wonderful view and in the beautiful high forest. The recording data is not correct again, I had bad reception every now and then, but the result and the experience count. Highly recommended and for some people it can be extended as …
