Rutter Force Waterfall

An impressive waterfall on Hoff Beck, just upstream of an old mill (now self-catering accommodation). The mill was made for grinding corn, then converted to manufacture bobbins and finally a sawmill.
It's easily visible from the bridge.

St Peter's Church, Great Asby

Highlight • Historical Site

This church dates back to Norman times, with some evidence of it being potentially Saxon prior to that, too. However, it was practically completely rebuilt in 1864-65.

The church has this "classic English church" feel as though it's straight out of an Agatha Christie novel. It is worth stopping here for a bit and have a rest in this peaceful place.

If you are coming down from the Helm road, when you hit the farm go through the yard and ignore the old bridleway sign. The farmer seems to have closed that off but if you go through and left you rejoin the bridleway and it is joyous gravel to the road to Great Asby. Nice route both ways.
