Glass Pyramid 'Cristalica Kingdom'

Highlight • Monument

The unique 17m high glass pyramid of Cristalica Kingdom is a true shopper's paradise, open Monday to Sunday 10am to 6pm. Symbolically, the glass pyramid is clearly visible to everyone on Döbern's main street. It is a tourist highlight for those passing through and those traveling by bus. For more information see

Border path

Highlight • Rest Area

The border path formerly belonged to Groß Kölzig and was incorporated into Döbern in 1974. It is a quiet road and therefore recommended for pedestrians and cyclists. The Geopark has installed a new information panel with interesting facts about the Döbern mill in three languages (German, Polish, and English).

Döbern Mill

Highlight • Monument

The Döberner Mühle, which can be traced back to 1766, was the start of several water mills in the Malxen lowlands. The malxe that fed the mill pond set the mill wheels in motion. Products such as flour, semolina and bran, but also sawn timber were produced. With the development of new coal fields in the "Providentia" pit in 1929, including the mill pond, the water supply came to a standstill. When the pit was shut down in 1932, a significantly larger amount of water was available due to the flooding of the remaining holes. At the beginning of the 1940s, therefore, the yellow clinker brick building for the new mill was erected, with electricity taking the place of hydroelectric power. Source: Geopark information board.

Unfortunately, the bank of the mill pond can only be reached in a few places due to the adjacent properties. Around the corner in Grenzweg opposite the mill there is a seat with a new information board from the Geopark.

Peace Oak Döbern

Highlight • Natural Monument

Where is the war memorial, complete with its ornate iron fence, at the old oak tree? This question remains unanswered. This impressive pedunculate oak tree with a crown diameter of 30 meters. Once planted as a peace oak to commemorate Sedan Day, it is now one of Döbern's landmarks.

Protestant Christ Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The evangelical Christ Church in Döbern was built in 1907/1908. In 1945 the roof, tower, apse and windows were damaged and then only provisionally repaired. In 1949/1950 the roof, tower and apse were renewed. The altar is made of wood with a carved crucifix. The organ dates from 1910. Three chilled iron bells, which were cast in 1956 by Schilling in Apolda, ring daily at 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. In 1909 the vicarage was built. doebern.de

Imperial Post Office Forster Street

Highlight • Historical Site

In 1901, the post office moved into the "Imperial Post Office" at what is now Forster Strasse 17. Unfortunately, post has not been sent from here since 1998. The building is now a listed building, a dental practice and offices are located there. In front of the building there is a magnolia, which blooms magnificently in spring.
