The railway cycle path, newly built about two years ago, is fantastic. Great smooth asphalt, excellent signage, and lovely, interesting rest areas. I cycled from Türkismühle to Schwarzerden, to the Ostertalbahn depot. It's an interesting route with a tunnel and two bridges (you can see the other from each bridge).
