Stonethwaite Village

Highlight • Trail

Quaint little village with a renowned pub and several hiking trails leading from it. Well worth the visit. Few parking options, so it's better to walk from Rosthwaite.

Small waterfalls all along the valley. Think twice about walking this way on a wet day, since crossing all the small streams can get quite tricky and slippery!

Black Moss Pot

Highlight • Gorge

Black Moss Pot is a pool on Langstrath Beck where the water cascades into a small ravine. With high rock walls and a deep pool to jump into, it's a popular swimming spot, especially in the summer months on its slow journey along the valley. Just to note, though, the spot is synonymous with skinny dipping.

A great flat route up the remote valley of Langstrath. You really do feel you are in wilderness territory.
Anyone going wild swimming the best access to spots is from the west side of this loop
