January 15, 2023,CANVEY ISLAND, ESSEX. LOOP

A lovely 14 mile walk starting of in front of the arcades and following the sea defence in a large loop around the entire perimeter of the Island. Easy walking around most of the route but a bit muddy in places.

May 17, 2024,Coastal Path around Canvey Island. Start/Finish at Benfleet

Great hiking route with a good mix of nature, historical bits and some industrial landscapes.

Very flat, though some segments are a bit overgrown, so you may prefer trousers rather than shorts.

I had to do a small detour inland to Canvey due to some construction work on flood defenses. Which was actually a great chance to explore the town …
