Woburn Abbey and Deer Park

Highlight • Monument

A beautiful country house nestled in the green fields of Bedfordshire, Woburn Abbey is the family seat and home of the Duke of Bedford. Woburn Abbey was founded as early as 1145 before being given to the 1st Earl of Bedford by Henry VIII in 1547.

During the Second World War, the house served as the headquarters for the Political Warfare Executive, a secretive group that produced propaganda for the war effort.

Today, the house and its attractions, such as the Woburn Safari Park, are open to visitors. It's a lovely place to roam the deer park and tuck into an afternoon tea. For more information: woburnabbey.co.uk
