"... The heart of the southwestern Vulkaneifel is the Eifel municipality of Meisburg. Meisburg is on the B 257 federal road halfway between Daun and Bitburg. The village is located in the valley of the Dümpelbach at an average altitude of 480 m above sea level. The highest Elevations in the area are the Daxelberg at 589 m above sea level and Rackenbach at 522 m above sea level Bernkastel-Wittlich supplied with drinking water.

According to recent findings, the place is already mentioned in a document in 992. In 1563 there were 12 houses in Meisburg, in which 75 people lived. By 1800 the number of inhabitants had steadily increased to 170 people. In 1869 the population was already 270 people living in 34 houses. In 1920 the town received its first central water supply and in 1924 electricity followed. In 1931 the provincial road, today's B 257, was built from Daun to Kyllburg. The connection to this traffic route brings important impulses to the town. ..."
