One of my favorite places in the Bruche Valley. Below the Champ du Feu, the vegetation fades to enhance the landscape. You can perfectly observe the Donon and the surrounding peaks in a hilly landscape, especially if you climb Mont Saint-Jean.

The place is perfect for a picnic in summer. And for the most gourmet, the Perheux farmhouse inn is only a few meters away.

On May 1, 1941, at a place called "Le Struthof", the Nazis opened a concentration camp to exploit a seam of pink granite discovered on the spot. During its activity, the camp also serves as a place for dismantling aircraft engines and medical experiments. The main camp was discovered by the Americans on November 25, 1944. From 1941 to 1945, 52,000 prisoners were deported to the camp and 17,000 died.

Today, a memorial and a necropolis occupy the site of the former main camp. Open to the public, allow up to three hours to visit the entire site.
