Hefelmann Park and Historic House

In 1526 Jacob Voss built the Kotten with a small farm building. Since the house was north of the Landwehr (main street) in a lower area, it was also called Vosslook (old German foxhole). The former farm building that is still standing is now used as a residential building and has been a listed building since 1987.
In 1716 the Ditzhaus family was mentioned as the owner and Wiereich Hefelmann took over the property in 1734. The main building was then probably rebuilt or enlarged in 1742. The property was owned by the Hefelmann family until 1993 and was sold to the city of Heiligenhaus.
Today only the name of the Hefelmann Park reminds of the former half-timbered building in which the Hefelmann family lived for more than 10 generations (from the 18th to the 20th century).
The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for Hefelmann Park took place in January 2014. The area is around 8000 m² in size and includes the Hefelmann fountain, a large, beautiful green area, play equipment for children and an atrium-like area with seating for events. ... "
