Von Oheim Family Mausoleum

Highlight • Monument

In the middle of the forest lies the well-kept gravesite of the noble von Oheimb family.
The family had owned the Holzhausen manor since 1812. Today the guest's house is located in this former manor.
Unfortunately, there is no additional information on site as to who is actually buried here.

Court Linden on Limberg

Highlight • Natural Monument

The court linden tree was probably not actually used at this location. Nevertheless: a court linden tree was documented on the Limberg in 1556. Court was held here until 1719, but it is believed that the current location of the linden tree directly on the castle wall was rather unsuitable and was therefore not the historical location.

Limberg Castle Keep

Highlight • Castle

The ruins are part of a formerly very large castle complex, the origins of which date back to the 13th century. Today there is a well-kept rest area and some information boards here. You can get married in the tower at a civil ceremony, but you can also enter it with the key from the tourist information office.

Wedding Room in Limberg Castle

Highlight • Castle

Not only is it allowed to get married here (which is rarely done during a hike 😉), but you can also visit the interior of Limberg Castle. However, you have to get the key from the Bad Holzhausen tourist information office.

Absolutely beautiful area
Beautiful view...beautiful forest...comfortable paths...
Round can be easily extended with e.g. detour to the Wiehenturm (worth it)
Several places to stop
If you like, you can take a look at Gut Crollage...Castle ruins Limberg...the burial and the spa park

This wonderful tour takes you back to another time in parts. Very idyllic and original. Great views and highlights along the route. A real highlight for us was the large spa park in Bad Holzhausen with its endless opportunities to have a good time ❣️
And the many benches along the entire route are also worth mentioning. Many communities could …

Against all expectations, relatively little mud for the current conditions
Altitude meters still within a moderate range (one incline that "warms up" a bit) ... the rest of the way is quite comfortable
A bit of asphalt ... but perfectly fine
Can be easily extended with a detour to the renovated weighing tower
Good and plenty of opportunities to take …

A nice round 🥾 with Kathy🥰.
We had a lot to talk about again 🗣️.

At the end we actually wanted to stop at Café Röscher ☕️ 🎂.....unfortunately closed 🙁

We did not start at the official starting point in the spa park Bad Holzhausen, but at the parking lot of the castle ruins Limberg
