Abandoned Farmhouse of Obersambach

Obersambach is located on the edge of a forest clearing in the extreme southeast of the Wiesentheider municipality. North begins the area of the city of Prichsenstadt, the district Rüdern Obersambach is the closest. In some distance, the district is in the Geiselwinder district Graefenneuses over. South of the district of Abtswind, the Steigerwaldberg Friedrichsberg with the homonymous hamlet rises only a few meters away. West is Untersambach. South flows the Sambach and feeds there a number of ponds. The deserted village Hertrichshausen is localized in the literature in the settlement triangle Wiesentheid, Obersambach and Graefenneuses. The settlement was probably abandoned in the 14th century.

The last two inhabitants left the farmhouse in 1987. Since then it is empty and decayed.
