It was a very nice short hike today to Gipfelstein and Brandstetterkogelhütte. The ascent was completely shady in the forest. The hut delighted us, the food was so lovingly arranged. The hut is also accessible by car.

Nice hike, unfortunately in bad weather. But you can withstand any weather in the cozy refuge at the summit. Descent in the rain, that's why we didn't walk the Matrassteig, but rather descended on a forest road to the Danube.

The break in the rain is worth taking advantage of and so Monika and I go up our local mountain, the Gipfeklstein, and then on to the Brandstetterkogel. Of course, we can't miss a stop for a bite to eat. The hut owner (Franz) was very talkative.
