Heiligkreuztal Monastery - The Story
CISTERCIAN CONVENT
The monastery was founded in 1227. A community of pious women had already come together in the neighboring village of Altheim 80 years earlier and were then allowed to join the Cistercian religious order. The monastery was named after a valuable relic, a splinter of Jesus' cross, donated by Count Egon von Griningen-Landau. The construction of the Romanesque monastery in the place initially known as "Wazzershaf" took almost twenty years.

Brother Klaus Vision Trail, Heiligkreuztal Monastery
The contemplation images are intended to encourage people to meditate on the visions of Nicholas of Flüe (1417 – 1487). His visions revealed to him a deeper perspective on his personal, as well as on the social and ecclesiastical situation. Since then they have been a source of inspiration and strength for many. The Swiss artist Alois Spichtig (born 1927), whose works can be found in over 30 sacred rooms in Switzerland, discovered the visions of this saint when he was around 50 years old. He artistically developed these visions, especially in the places where mystics and hermits worked. The Stefanus community asked him to create a vision path for Heiligkreuztal. This was made possible by the cooperation with a younger "art worker", Toni Halter (born 1973), who has now created the sculptures together with Alois Spichtig in the niches of the western inner cloister wall

HÄUSSLER – a company with a long tradition
Karl and Rosa Häußler once laid the foundation with a small blacksmith workshop. With Karl-Heinz and Adelinde Häußler, as well as the children Rosemarie and Richard, the company is now run by four people who have learned their business from scratch. In 2019, the company celebrated its 70th anniversary.
how it all started
In 1949, Karl Häußler, whom everyone affectionately called “our grandfather”, founded a village blacksmith shop with horseshoes.
In 1967, Karl-Heinz Häußler, the current owner, joined the company and shaped the expansion into a regional agricultural machinery specialist company.
In 1970 Karl-Heinz Häußler took over the business and four years later, in 1974, with the help of his wife Adelinde Häußler, the oven construction branch was established.
In 1993, the decision was made to outsource agricultural technology in order to concentrate fully on the growing baking technology market.
In 2000 the construction of a new production hall with an area of 4600 sqm followed in 2004 the completion of the new exhibition center with approx. 1200 m² of exhibition space.
In 2006 the entire area was inaugurated as the "Baking Village".
On January 1, 2007, the company shares were handed over to son Richard Häußler and daughter Rosemarie Häußler-Mayer.
In 2010 Richard and Rosemarie took over the management. The business is still run by all family members today.
2019 Inauguration of the new warehouse logistics
2022 Construction of a new warehouse
Today, HÄUSSLER is a modern and customer-oriented production and service company that has developed into a reliable employer for the region through setting the right course in recent years and through successful market orientation.

Interesting information panels about eggs and chickens. Underlying the all-important question: which came first, the chicken or the egg? 😉
