A really interesting phenomenon. Two trunks growing close together, which unite again higher up.

Unique vegetation, a large sundial and juniper bushes adorn this place. Very nice, informative and easily accessible on foot or by car (from Althüttendorf or the village of Sperlingsherberge).

May 10, 2025,Sonnenuhr im Geopark – Großer Schwarzer See Runde von Altkünkendorf
A beautiful hiking trail for some photography opportunities. Scenic forests, lakes, hills, fields, and meadows. What more could you want? The road just before the starting point is a bit adventurous. 😉

The beech forest is wonderfully colorful in autumn. It's just a shame that the first section in particular has mostly Krunkel paving instead of a soft forest path. …

Instead of the usually advertised hike from Alt-Künkendorf, we started just before the hamlet of Grumsin and hiked in a southerly direction. After 4 kilometers you step into a depression and find yourself in the area of the Ice Age Landscape Geopark - absolutely worth …
