In 1779, in place of the older Töltsch forest workers' settlement (origin dates back to 1632), an iron hammer was founded, which was named "Gabrielahütten" after the owner's daughter.
A steel melting furnace, an ore press, further hammers, tin snips, a tin mill and a sheet rolling mill were added later.
As a result of a shortage of coal, a drop in the price of steel and a poor transport infrastructure, production was stopped in 1867. Attempts to restart production failed after a few years and the factory was dismantled. Most of the residents moved to Kallich.
After the last remaining German-speaking residents were expelled in 1945, the village was no longer populated.
