Mangfall Rapids at Grub

Highlight • River

The Mangfall bend near Grub, with its rapids, creates a very romantic scene. There are good swimming spots to the left and right of the bridge, and there's also a lovely section for canoeing.

Very beautiful natural Walsweg, but you should have sturdy shoes, as it can often be muddy due to the headwaters.

In the northern central part of the Mangfall knee there are always wonderful views of the river from the steep bank.

Travertine Spring

Highlight • Natural Monument

Wild-romantic bank area on the Mangfall, but it should be done with views from the path - do not walk in (there are enough other places along the Mangfall where walking around is not a problem!).

Camel Farm Bavaria

Highlight • Structure

There have been desert ships in Mangfalltal for over 25 years. What began as a spontaneous purchase after a visit to the circus is now a colorful camel farm with many attractions.
Over 30 camels, numerous llamas, donkeys, horses, alpacas and goats invite you to animal adventures. On the 1500 square meter farm there is a heated Bedouin tent, camel museum, indoor playground, kiosk, bazaar, petting zoo, donkey stable, adventure trail and barbecue areas.
Booked riding tours, children's birthday parties, etc. take place Thursday to Sunday all year round (also Wednesdays during holidays) by appointment.

October 29, 2023,Mangfalltal – Mangfallstromschnellen Runde von Grub
A beautiful, colorful little tour along the eastern Mangfall knee and back over a ridge with a magnificent panorama, so you could experience the autumn afternoon in foehn weather. But you should have good shoes with you: on the way you had to go through a lot of mud in places (wooden trunks weren't laid out everywhere) and there were …

Nice hike for hot summer days. Partly wet and slippery. Walking sticks are helpful.

Showing Translation

From 1/3 of the hike, the paths are no longer easily accessible. Fallen trees block normal routes. From here on you have to be more agile and a bit sportier.

Komoot restarted twice and only recorded a third. Have therefore saved the planned tour, were about 170 Hm and 5.8 km.
An absolutely great and varied tour with natural paths.
Good shoes are recommended for the tour, as the path in the area of the spring was very muddy, despite a long period of drought. Tour is therefore not recommended …

Not an “easy” hike. The 1st km was OK. then there were a dozen for every 2 km!!! Stream crossings with mud and stick dams. Lots of trees lying across the way that had to be climbed over and under. The path was no longer recognizable in parts and was divided into up to 3 trails that were lost in …

Showing Translation

You should be comfortable climbing trees and wear mud-proof footwear. The trail is an adventure. We had a lot of fun. A helping hand every now and then makes it a little easier.
