The Höganäs church, also called Himmelsfärdskyrkan, was designed by the architect Professor Ivar Tengbom, perhaps best known for designing the Stockholm Concert Hall.
The church was inaugurated on the day of Christ's Ascension in 1934 by Bishop Edvard Rodhe. The day of the inauguration has also given the church its name. Assumption Church.
