The fortress on the striking mountain Asperg can be seen from afar. It has been used as a prison since the beginning of the 18th century. Since 1968, it houses the prison hospital of the Baden-Wuerttemberg judiciary.
A museum gives insights into the lives of 23 inmates from three
Centuries and shows why they were imprisoned. The House of History Baden-Württemberg has set up the impressive exhibition at this historic location.
