    Hiking

An imposing landmark of our city. It gets tight on the ascent, then there is a magnificent view over Leipzig.

    Hiking

Not far from Napoleon's former command post, Leipzig's most famous landmark rises amidst the battlefield of the Battle of Leipzig (Battle of the Nations) of 1813.

Constructed of concrete and granite porphyry and inaugurated in 1913, the monument stands 91 meters tall. From the viewing platform, a magnificent panoramic view of Leipzig and its surroundings unfolds. Designed by Bruno Schmitz, the gigantic monument impresses with its knight-adorned crypt, the nearly ten-meter-high colossal figures, and the 68-meter-high equestrian dome.

The unique acoustics of the monumental domed hall make concerts an unforgettable experience.

A visit offers a wealth of impressions.

Craftsmanship at its finest, that would probably no longer be possible today.
    Cheers to the ancestors 👌
    And a must in Leipzig
