The granaries—known as espigueiros in Portuguese—are found in Lindoso, a border village within the Peneda-Gerês National Park, in the municipality of Ponte da Barca, district of Viana do Castelo, in northern Portugal.
Lindoso boasts one of the largest collections of granaries in Europe, with approximately 60–67 espigueiros clustered around the medieval castle on a communal threshing floor.
In total, the entire parish of Lindoso contains around 120 espigueiros, of which approximately 60 are grouped near the castle.
