Looking at this bay from above or from the perspective of the bike path, it is perfectly clear what a ribbon lake is. This entire body of water was formed during the Ice Age as a result of the powerful activity of a melting glacier, which carved out a deep, over 6-kilometer-long trough here. The eastern bay in Zalesie is literally the very end and "dead end" of this gigantic, post-glacial trough.
