The small hamlet of Birch, at 1,421 meters, consists of a few typical Valais wooden houses and old barns with their characteristic stone slab roofs. The narrow paths between the historic buildings still convey the original character of a traditional Valais mountain settlement.
At the signpost in Birch, the paths separate towards Gspon, Visperterminen, and the historic lime kilns. From here, beautiful views open up again and again over the Vispertal and the surrounding mountains.
