The Rothenseer connecting channel (RVK) is a federal waterway of the waterway class Vb in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, for which the Waterway and Shipping Authority Magdeburg is responsible. It establishes a connection between the Mittelland Canal and the Elbe and is 5.34 kilometers long (re-kilometrisation 2010). The canal is used for the descent from the Mittelland Canal to the Elbe and for entering the Magdeburg branch canal with the harbor basins I and II.
