The summit of the pass is located at an altitude of about 730 m above sea level. It lies in the Przeklęte Mountains (Albanian Alps), close to the border with Montenegro. It separates the Hoti region from the valley of the Cemi (Cijevna) river.

The road was fully asphalted and secured with barriers in 2014–2016. Previously, it was a difficult, gravel trail mainly accessible to 4x4 vehicles.

At the top of the pass, there is a catering facility and a glazed viewing platform (terrace) with a view of the canyon, the serpentine roads, and the border with Montenegro.
