Hiking

The building is a half-timbered structure in the shape of an elongated octagon with a hipped roof. The facade is painted red, with white sash windows. A wall in the 19th-century style was built around the church. The church was reconsecrated in 1976.
The church interior has wooden floors, brown wooden walls, and a vaulted ceiling with light gray painted wood paneling. The crosses, chandeliers, and signs for the hymn numbers still come from the predecessor church that burned down.

Especially in winter when there is snow, the old church looks very romantic. Originally built in 1743 and completely burned down in 1972. Then rebuilt. outside as a reconstruction but inside in the colors of the Sami costume.

Hiking

The oldest church in Jokkmokk is modeled on the Sami style and built entirely of wood. Part of the wooden fence has chambers where the deceased were previously stored in winter until the ground thawed in spring for burial.
