Victorian cultural centre on Hyde Bridge, dedicated to the poet W.B. Yeats and the literary tradition of Sligo. W.B. Yeats was the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1923. He and his brother, the painter Jack Yeats, spent their holidays in the region, where they drew inspiration for his most beautiful poems. The city has retained a love for literature and art. Culturally very vibrant, it is also the starting point for beautiful walks.
