It was only ten years ago that the beech forest around Serrahn in the Müritz National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The largely natural forest is an important habitat for all kinds of animal and plant species, including cranes, sea eagles and ospreys. In autumn the beeches shine in the most beautiful orange and gold tones.
