The Liebeneck Castle ruins are located near Pforzheim in the Northern Black Forest on a wooded spur high above the Würm valley. It was probably built in the 12th century during the Staufen era and served to protect a rafting toll station as well as to monitor a trade route. Parts of the curtain wall and the approximately 30 m high keep are preserved, among other things. The ruin is situated quietly in the middle of the forest and is only accessible on foot via hiking trails – a beautiful destination for a hike.
