The Main is, at about 527 kilometers, the longest right tributary of the Rhine. In Frankfurt, it reaches its full splendor before flowing into the Rhine about 30 kilometers further west near Mainz. It divides the city into two halves: the bustling center in the north and the cozier Sachsenhausen in the south.
