The fact that the church has always been of central importance for this place is evident in Karby's name: It is made up of the Danish terms for church (“Karke”) and “by” for village.

Cycling
Karby has a church in the early Gothic style from 1280. The 24 meter high, striking tower with a gabled roof is particularly striking. Not only outside, but also inside the church in Karby is a real eye-catcher. The carved chancellery from 1592 probably comes from the carving workshop of Hans Gudewerdt from Eckernförde.
