Little Wood is a mix of conifer and broad leaf trees covering around 28 hectares (70 acres). It was planted in around 1840 as a future source of building materials, you'll find some large stumps of oak which were felled in the past.
There is a nice two kilometer (1.25 mile) walking loop around the forest. Keep an eye out for the information boards which tell you about the flora and fauna you could see.
