The Badum Tower is a watchtower belonging to the network of coastal watchtowers. It is located on the second highest cliff in the Valencian Community and offers spectacular views!
Due to its geographical location and the fact that it is a coastal town, Peníscola has experienced numerous attacks from the sea throughout history. A complex surveillance system helped protect the town from attacks from the coast. The Badum Tower, a defensive structure of Arab origin, serves as an example of this. It was used to warn the inhabitants of the castle of the enemy's approach by means of smoke signals.
