The Sternenfels castle ruins are situated above Büren in the canton of Solothurn, atop a wooded ridge. Dating back to the fourteenth century, it served as a small fortification to protect the valley. Today, only a few remnants of walls, ditches, and rock formations are visible. A narrow hiking trail leads from the village to the historically significant castle site. The location is freely accessible and popular with hikers, nature lovers, and history enthusiasts. From here, there are beautiful views over Büren and the surrounding Jura hills. A tranquil, historically powerful place. A highly recommended destination.
