Cycling
After more than 10 years of planning, a new cycle route connecting the Parkway Emscher and the Springorum Trail has finally been completed. A new bridge over the A448 motorway is still needed and will be built in the coming years. The new route is well-paved, very wide, and currently 5.4 km long. Until the new bridge is finished, cyclists will only need to take a small detour along Markstraße and through a park.

Very nice tour, as always with Andreas. I adjusted my planning because Andreas had to go home to Recklinghausen. Great for following, just a slightly steep approach via Ortlohstrasse. Everything else is almost entirely through the "green"

Cycling
The Opel-Trasse is a very well-maintained route.
Partially a bit dirty/littered but mostly very clean and with many benches where cyclists and pedestrians can take a break.
A small drawback is the Märkische Str., which connects wide parts of the route.
