WWII beginning of war at the Gliwice radio station. Just google it. Nice place with lots of seating. Free WiFi and free parking spaces in front of it. If you want to go shopping, right next to it is a LIDL and a Rossmann

Gliwice Radio Station - a radio station complex, consisting of three buildings and a wooden transmitting mast, erected in the years 1934–1936 in Gliwice, entered into the register of immovable monuments of the Silesian Voivodeship[1] and on the list of historical monuments.
The mast, built from May 20 to October 9, 1935 by Lorenz AG from Berlin, with a height of 111 m, gives it the status of the tallest existing structure built entirely of wood in Europe and the tallest wooden broadcast tower in the world.
