Hiking

The tunnel is occasionally used in the summer for screenings of movies. The tunnel is curved over the entire route. The tracks and signal systems have since been removed. For photographers, the tunnel offers a very interesting backdrop. The tunnel has since been expanded as part of the Nordbahn route as a cycle and footpath and can be used day and night with LED lighting.

The Dorper Tunnel also Dorp Tunnel is a 488 m [1] long, former railway tunnel in the urban area of Wuppertal. It is located on the Düsseldorf-Derendorf-Dortmund Süd railway line, which was opened in 1879 and has since been closed, in the urban area known as the “Wuppertaler Nordbahn”, between the former Dorp stop and the Ottenbruch train station, and is crossed by the 46 federal motorway. The tunnel is curved over the entire route
