Rising above the Highwood River valley, the Sandy McNabb Hills form a series of rounded ridges covered in mixed forest and open grassland. The area is popular for hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife spotting, with views that stretch toward the front ranges of the Rockies. In spring and early summer, the hills come alive with wildflowers and the scent of pine carried on the breeze.
