Standing at 1,150 feet (350 m), Gibbert Hill has fantastic views over Dartmoor National Park and west Devon. Although not officially considered to be a beacon, Gibbert Hill has often been used as a place for celebration historically. It used to be known as Gallows Hill as it was supposedly haunted by notorious criminals who were taken to the hill to be executed.
