The cave of Eumaeus (also called Evmaios cave) is considered a significant location from Homer's epic poem "Odyssey".
According to tradition, Eumaeus was the loyal swineherd of King Odysseus. When Odysseus returned to Ithaca after his ten-year wandering, unrecognized as a beggar, Eumaeus was the first to hospitably welcome him. The cave is said to have been located near the place where Eumaeus grazed his herds.
