This segment of Trout Run Trail is by far the most scenic—and naturally, also the most challenging. It features numerous switchbacks and sharp turns, offering stunning views of the valleys below. Who would ever believe this is Iowa? You can access the west end of this section at a trailhead in the southeast quadrant of the intersection of US Highway 52 and Iowa State Highway 9, and the east end from Siewers Spring State Park on Trout Run Road.
