The monastery wall in Bad Doberan, at approximately 1.4 kilometers long, is one of the longest and almost completely preserved brick monastery walls in Germany. It encloses the grounds of the former Cistercian monastery of Doberan and was built between 1283 and 1291 under Abbot Conrad III. The wall consists of fieldstone foundations and brickwork in the so-called "Wendish bond" and reaches an average height of 2.5 meters.
