Flowing 74 miles (119 km) from its source to the River Ouse, the River Ure is the main river in the Dales. Many species of wildlife live here such as badgers, roe deer, brown trout and oystercatchers, as well as plants such as cranesbill, pignut and buttercup. The river has been featured in many TV shows and films such as Wuthering Heights and Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.
