Hiking

The first records of the Nowa Słupia parish date back to 1326. Initially, there was a small wooden church in Nowa Słupia, which served as a branch of the parish church in Stara Słupia. Around 1656, Father Maciej Sekulski, a Benedictine monk and parish priest, began the construction of the Nowa Słupia church with his own efforts and funds. He built a single-nave stone church. On May 23, 1678, Andrzej Trzebnicki, Bishop of Kraków, established the Church of St. Lawrence with a foundation charter and established it as a parish church. Unfortunately, the exact date of consecration is unknown.
