A special ammunition dump was located here. The Treysa special ammunition dump, known as the Rörshain special ammunition dump during its operating hours, was one of the depots for nuclear warheads on the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany that were guarded and maintained by US units in the interior. It existed from 1962 to 1992.
